2002 Vauxhall Vectra Two Wheel Drive Manual 47000 miles

i have today replaced the temperature transmitter as one minute the gauge is working then when I start to drive the gauge goes to zero, after putting the transmitter in I still have the same problem, could it be the thermostat? Or would it be the temperature gauge? Please help

Im no expert and dont know what a temp transmiter is but I had to replace the thermostat om my 52 reg vectra a few months ago. It wasnt allowing the engine to get up to temp
