2001 Vauxhall Vectra Automatic 87000 miles

hi when my fuel level is less than qaurter and i put my foot down to excellerate from a corner it hesitates for a sec or 2 but when my fuel is more than a qaurter it doesnt do it could it be something to do with my fuel pump or pressure and is it expensive

I would check fuel pressure, it could be a faulty fuel pressure regulator !
