Have a 1998 vauxhall vectra 2.0 16v, has 112k miles on it.. just bought off a guy, the guy had a new head gasket put on it about 600miles back but now is losing water so he sold it for cheap to us as he couldn't be bothered with it.. What it is doing is.. when the engine gets up to temperature the water in the header starts to rise to the top causing it to escape from the cap and from the over flow.. engine temp on the car doesn't get any hotter than 90c.. coolant is not clean either but dunno if this is recent or always been like that.. coolant doesn't seem like its boiling either and all pipes around the engine do get hot, the top pipe is hotter than the bottom also.. engine oil is clean.. no mayo.. no smoke out the back either, and car drives fine.. wondered if they never fitted the head gasket properly or what... any answers??? thanks
