cuts out when car is driven fast?

Engine cuts out when driven fast and then when slowing down. Engine management light comes on and car quits it. Need some direction as to what the problem is ! apart from the issue car runs fine otherwise.

Hello,

Typically when a vehicle seems to hesitate on acceleration is can due to weak spark plugs or poor fuel supply.
First need to check the spark plugs. Inspect, clean and adjust the gap if necessary. If there is too much carbon build up they need to be replaced.

If there is a restriction on the fuel line for the fuel pressure regulator is not functioning properly it could also make the engine to hesitate on acceleration.
Check the fuel pressure at the fuel rail. Make sure the fuel filter is clean and free of any debris.

As you mentioned the check engine light is illuminated. Get the vehicle scanned for trouble codes. As it can help with the diagnostics.
