2002 Other Vauxhall Models battery charge light on and no pa

New battery fitted charge light remains on and no pas all wiring appears to be intact and no slip on drive belt

Check alternator output, it must be above 13V. And check for a blown charge system fuse.

Mark thanks for your advice, I've put a voltmeter across the teminals with engine stopped and the reading is 12.4. When engine is running this reading drpos to 11.2 if the charging fuse is one of the 60 amp fuses in the engine compartment there are all ok not being an auto electrician but I think my alternator is knackered. What do you think

Hi there
yes I would say the alternator has gone to god, I am unsure if your alt has an in built voltage regulator or not, nearly all do now, just make sure the regulator is ok if not inbuilt.
