a CV boot is a rubber sleeve around both ends of your drive shafts from gearbox to front wheels .. it is there to hold in the grease that keeps the joint free ..if the clip is adrift your loosing the grease, which will ultimately wear out the joint .. the clips are generally made of metal to keep them tight and you can't buy them seperate from the CV boot .. you could use a cable tie .. justmake sure you refill the boot with CV grease then use the tie inplace of the clip making sure you get it real tight ?
