I am unable to start car. When I switch on ignition, dashboard display shows flashing letter F instead of normal letter N
Other ignition systems seem OK - ie indicators, fuel gauge etc

Could this be faulty electronic unit and / or faulty sensors in automatic gearbox ?

Hello ... thanks for the donation .. much appreciated

this is a common fault on this model ,, the gearbox has a faulty clutch actuator and it will need replacing !! try this for me ... tap the gearbox on the right hand side a few times with a hammer (no i'm not crazy) this does work most times .. it will release the actuator and you will be able to start and drive the vehicle as usual .. but I would get the vehicle looked at ASAP by a good repair centre the fault should show up on a vauxhall software diagnostic check and most vauxhall dealers will have come across this fault before of course this will be the most expensive option ... be aware it will happen again probably sooner rather than later .. it may do this again the next time you turn it off or it may be month's .. hope this helps .. give it a try and let me know !!
