Hi.
I had the same problem with a 1994 Corsa.
It may not be the same solution but it was because i had an engine immobiliser fitted and , after having to call out my break down service, the mechanic said that, if he disconnected it the problem would be solved but it would mean no immobiliser. I agreed and had no further problem.
