Hi guys!! Took the car for a run last night first time on A38 since buying it not previously put into 5th gear. I had to literally floor the gas pedal and it would only reach 65mph and my foot was on the floor!! any ideas??
thanks in advance for the replies I just dont want to get seen off as it's my first car and the guy i bought it from is actually picking it up today to get it sorted. but i'd like to know im not being fobbed off

there could be numerous reasons for this fault .. stretched/incorrectly fitted accelerator cable .. bad TPS (throttle postion sensor) worn fuel pump etc etc ..
