This is a rewording of my last question. My 1.4 s.O.H.C. Single point injection, corsa revs at 1300 on tickover, when warm. After the car has idled for a short time the engine management faulty light comes on. This light does not come on if the car is started and driven without stopping to idle.I have fitted a second hand idle speed control motor, but this has made no difference. Does the different idle speed control motor, I have fitted, need programming to the car?And is the engine management faulty light coming on because of the high tick over revs, or could it be another fault?

The vehicle needs to be plugged into a diagnostic scanner to locate the exact fault. The vehicles PCM (computer) will tell the technician in what system the fault actuallt lies !
