2006 Vauxhall Astra 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Manual

I purchased an OBD2 u380 code reader. When I plug it in it powers up but then comes up with 'Linking Error' It says in the manual that it may be unable to communicate with the car.What can I do? am I using the wrong scanner? The car is a 2006 1.9 turbo Diesel Vauxhall Astra Twintop.

The scanner should actually work on your vehicle ... some of the older model scanners do not work on deisel engines .. try linking it to a friends vehicle to be sure the scanner is working correctly !!
