I have problems with my wiring loom in a Vauxhall Astra 52 reg.
I have an intermittant fault whereby the front electric windows seem to be cutting the permanant live from the car. This means that the radio is not working, display screen, windows and internal lights.
I will leave the car for a while and then it reboots and everything works and the radio asks me for the safe code.
I have looked at the fuses and everything seems to be ok. It looks like the wiring from these items goes to a black slim box at the back of the fuses (some sort of ECU). I am not 100% what this is but can this be the problems why the car is losing the permanant live.

sounds like you have a damaged live or ground wire to this wiring loom .. you will need to trace the wires to locate it !
