I HAVE A VAUXHALL MERIT CAR.ITS NOT WORKING I CHANGED THE ALTERNATOR,STARTER MOTOR.THE RED LEAD FROM THE BATTERY TO THE ALTERNATOR IS GETTING RED HOT AND AT THE BATTERY TERMINALS IS SPARKING WHY IS THIS HAPPENNING?

you need to double check you have everything wired/connected correctly !!

been told by a vauxhall specialist thats it is the ignition switch as its the most common fault with vauxhalls and ive done that and it starts great now.
