I drove my rodeo to the shop for a small water leak and it was running great. Found the leak at the waterpump, so they changed the waterpump and timing belt. Now they called and said I had to have a valve job it lost compression. How could it go from running great to lost compression just from changing the parts?

they may have installed the timing belt in correctly and bent the valves.
