Valve cover remove and replace screw sequence and torque spec

I've looked around for the valve cover disassembly and install sequence (I'm guessing for uninstall its outside to inside, installation is opposite order). I'm also looking for the torque spec on said valve cover.

Hi,

I have the info for installing, but nothing for removal. However, I would agree with your thoughts. When removing, do the opposite of the install. Note that you should not torque them to spec the first time. Slowly tighten them in the order indicated a little at a time until the final spec is reached.

Here are the directions. The attached pic correlates with the directions and the torque specs are included.

TIGHTENING SEQUENCE/SPECIFICATIONS
- Install the cylinder head cover and tighten the bolts in five or six steps in the order shown to achieve a final torque of 6.9-10.7 Nm (60.8-95.4 in. lbs.).

Okay. When tightening the screws in order from 1- 9 ( in 6 rotations for the final torque spec ) should I apply 10 - 15 in.Lbs of pressure per screw for a final torque spec of 60.8 - 95.4 in Lbs ?

Hi,

Yep, the final torque is 60.8 - 95.4 inch-pounds. Make sure you do not tighten to foot-pounds. That will break things.
