I would like to know why I am having to replace valve cover gasket at least five times since owning this car (2007). The coolant is full (never have to add), it does not run hot. The low coolant is displayed, check it, it is full. I take it to the shop because the oil smell, and smoke is coming from the hood, he says you need gaskets!

There may be an issue with the condition of the cover itself or sometimes a different brand of gasket is the solution. You need an experienced tech to examine the parts and determine why it keeps leaking.

Your valve covers were more than likely overtorqued at some point distorting the flanges of the covers, straighten covers or replace them with new gaskets

Except the fact that they are cast aluminum covers and don't bend.
