Valve cover bolts sequence and torque needed?

I am replacing the valve cover gasket?

Hi,

For some reason, the manual doesn't provide a sequence. It does indicate 71-inch pounds. (See pic below)

What I would recommend is to install all of the bolts hand tight first. Then, starting in the center and working in a crisscross pattern, tighten them to 35-inch pounds and then repeat the same thing to reach 71-inch pounds.

Note this is inch pounds and not foot pounds. Don't overtighten the cover. It can break.

Thanks for your quick response. I will definitely follow your recommendation in terms of sequence and torque specs when I do the job tomorrow and hopefully no more leaks. I will keep you posted.

Replaced the gasket and torqued it to specs provided with the sequence provided and no issues. No leaks
