The vehicle was running good parked it for about six months tried to start it up bust up bad, got to constantly give gas to keep running. So I got a new carburetor ran good when I idling, then started acting up like before. Everyone says it is a vacuum leak but I have no idea. I had a new motor put in before it was parked and I do not know what year it is. The Jeep is a 1988, but the motor I believe is a 1979, do not know for sure. The numbers I found (ef3235444) brought me to the 1979 the carburetor is a (auto line c6214) and a lot of the lines around it were blocked off from the people who put the motor in. So I am trying to find out where the lines go. I do not believe they are there for nothing.

This is a Carter BBD carburetor most likely from a 1979, give or take a year.

Very good carburetor.

This Jeep has a "straight six" cylinder engine, not a V-8 as in your information above.

I noticed in your pictures that the brake booster does not have vacuum line to it, and there is a large vacuum port "open" on the driver's side of the intake.

Did you remove this line?

Do you understand?

See my two pictures below.

If this is not the issue, I may still be able to aid you in getting it right.

The pictures were great! I may request more if need be.

Check mine out my #2 ('46) at the "Sonic" drive in yesterday.

Your turn,
