two ways of locating a vacuum leak, spray some brake clean carefully around the inlet and vacuum hoses if the leak is bad the engine will surge. the best method is a smoke machine, this pressurizes the induction with harmless smoke and you can see where the leaks are, many work shops have this equipment.
