I scored on the vehicle listed above with a rebuilt dcb6 engine having just about 30,000 miles on it. I have never had an SUV that was a five speed. Instantly fell in love lol. So I am trying to learn her and take good care of her. Just figured out my idling high issue resolved it by cleaning the idle air control motor. Now I think I got the vacuum hoses mixes up. I have the diagram but it just is not running right and think I got them hooked up wrong. I am new to this DIY car thing and do not know what everything is called just yet. Any pictures greatly appreciated!

Hi and thanks for using 2CarPros.com The first thing we need to determine is if there is a leak. Follow these directions to determine if one exists.

I have attached a few pictures related to vacuum controlled items just so you can see what they look like and what they are called. The last picture is where I think you might have made the mistake. Take a look at it and let me know if you have questions.

Take care,
Joe

Is there a T connector that goes on the temperature sensor I think is what it is called on the underside of the air filter housing? I will take some pictures of how mine is maybe that will explain better. To add it is a rebuilt engine not the one that was originally in the vehicle. DcB6

Good to hear you are a DIY. Nothing better than working on your own car. Can you remove the vacuum line from the EGR and start the engine please to see how it runs? Here is the location of the valve.

Check out the diagrams (below). Please let us know what happens.

Cheers, Ken
