Thanks Alex. Looking at at you diagram there is a purge valve I found similar diagram (minus a clearer hose detail) it was called intake manifold runner control valve I called Mazda with the VIN and they called it runner valve as well for $160.00. So I called a few parts stores one or two had runner valve others did not AutoZone has it as part pv780 for runner valve (my diagram which I didn't print out) and pv769 for purge valve (your diagram) the one on there now is the purge valve is not the original I changed it last year and it is chattering again. My question although I think they are both purge valves which one is the correct valve the runner or the purge as of now I have EVAP leak and a dead cylinder number two. I am going to check the coil, but could this faulty valve cause any of these issues? Thank you for help.

Hello again,

No, a faulty purge control valve will not cause a dead cylinder. When the EVAP system purges it will purge into the throttle body or intake manifold, so that all cylinders get the fuel fumes. As far as the dead cylinder is concerned, I would do just what you are doing, check the Coil On Plug(COP), the 2 wires going to it and it's associated connector. Also you might want to look on either EBAY or Amazon for your purge control valve. They have Original Equipment Manufacturer(OEM) or equivilant parts for generally about 1/2 what the parts houses are charging for them.

Thanks,
Alex
