I replaced my vacuum pump yesterday and today I ran the truck, and my brake pedal is going to the floor and my turbo is smoking. When I try to shift out of park it tells me to shift to park. I have a check engine light on but only before I start the engine, after the engine turns over the light goes away.

I would remove the vacuum line for the brake booster and have a helper start the engine while you check for vacuum, you may have a defective pump also. I have included the instructions on how to change the vacuum pump out correctly in case you need it. You should run the codes as well to see which codes are stored, you may have bump or left off the system ground while doing the job. This guide can help:

I just replaced my vacuum pump and noticed that my turbo is wet and smokes on startup. I’m assuming it’s coolant because it’s white. There’s also smoke coming out of the tail pipe but it’s not a lot.

You can see the wet oil on the turbo, was oil present when you did the repair, if so, this should burn off after driving for a few miles. If not, you have an oil leak like the valve covers or oil supply line to the turbo. Thanks for the video, it helps.
