using CD or cassete player without having the antennae out - Jaguar XJ 1999

Bought this car a week ago and still finding out things about it. ... what seems strange to me is that every time I play a CD the antennae goes out. Does't seem logical to me. Is it the only way it works or there is a way to operate it without the antennae but i could not find a way to do it?

I t may be because cd is turned on if power is supplied to antenna then it will go up. we only fix cars not radios.
