I am looking into buying a used car for my daughter, but the man who is selling it is saying this is the code that is stopping the car from getting a sticker.

P0449 Permanent
Evaporative Emissions (EVAP) Vent Solenoid Valve Control Circuit
and P0449 Pending
Evaporative Emission (EVAP) Vent Solenoid Valve Control Circuit

Is this something expensive to fix? What could it mean that it needs to be repaired? Should I just pass on the car?

You please confirm the year of the car? They didn't make a Cruse in 2001? I would replace the vent valve and clear the codes first if you can get it for less.

P0449 Code - Evaporative Emission System Vent Valve/Solenoid Circuit Malfunction.

I can get the location of the valve if I have the correct car.
