In 2004 you were helping someone with high idle issue.
Did he changed the switching valve ?
Did the fix the problem?
Because I am having the same issue.
I posted a picture and circle it with yellow mark around it.
I hope you remember the picture and the particular part.
It was a while back and I was reading everything you guys went through to find out the issue.
I just want to confirm after he changed, the problem got fixed.

From your question I understand you have a high idle speed problem. One of the most common reasons for that would be a vacuum leak after the throttle body. The next would be a faulty idle air control valve. Both allow extra air into the system and cause a high idle. The easiest way to check for the first is to trace the vacuum lines first. Look for cracks or splits. Then use some engine starting spray to see if there is a leak near the intake gaskets. Just spray a bit and listen for the rpm to change. If it does you have a leak.

As for the earlier question. If there was no response from the original poster about what he did to repair the issue then we do not know what was done to repair the problem or if it was ever repaired.
