The upper hose on my air filter box is blowing out air not sucking it into the engine. what is the cause of this? Thank you.

check the duct work probably not on correctly or a clamp has broken or been taken off. See picture, not sure where you are talking about.

It is the hose that comes out of the top of air filter box and I suppose allows filtered air into the motor. someone told me it is a sign of a timing issue? Is that possible? Thanks

maybe if a backfire, but if a timing issue scan for codes auto parts does for free.
