Upgrade my fuel pump for more power

I am considering upgrade to my ford ranger 2.5 turbo diesel engine and my friend ask me to service the fuel pump before any other things..Does this mean upgrading my fuel pump to heavy duty setting..thanks 2carpros

The injection pump will not require servicing, any work on the pump will require a pump test bench to re calibrate all settings, you only need to replace any filters in the system.

There will be a canister type fuel filter under the bonnet, at is all you have to worry about,
