We have replaced the battery because that is what the dealership suggested, and it didn't do anything. The truck will not start and none of the buttons are working now. Everything worked about twenty minutes prior.

Hi!
Thanks for visiting 2CarPros. It sounds like the key may need to be reprogrammed, but can you elaborate on what the original issue was that led to the battery replacement? Which battery did you replace the key fob or the vehicle battery?

Lets get you back on the road.

We replaced the battery on the key fob. The buttons had started to be really finicky and would only work after we had hit either button quite a few times, then we ran some errands everything was fine we got home and I had forgotten something at the store and sent my husband to go back. And when he got in the truck it said "key not programmed" is there a way to reprogram the key fob ourselves?

To reprogram the FOB you would have to contact a dealer or locksmith, there isn't a self program available for this year. I recommend calling a local locksmith as they tend to be more cost effective.
