Hey guys, I have the car listed above it is a police interceptor with 115,405 miles, 871 idle hours. Yesterday I removed the air filter to check the condition of it to see if it needed to be replaced and saw that filter was new so I put everything back together the way it was and noticed that now the idle is not steady. The idle goes up and down and the difference if about 75 rpm, the car does not shake, runs very smooth, has lots of power with smooth acceleration, good fuel mileage, no check engine light. I do however can feel a slight surge. Also, the MAF sensor is connected and I never messed with it. What can cause this?
Thanks

Good morning.

I would clean the throttle body plate real good with cleaner. Carbon build up can cause this issue.

Also, double check your connections from the air filter to the throttle body and be sure there are no cuts, rips or tears in the hose going to the throttle body. All incoming air has to go across the mass air flow sensor.
