Black substance under the hood of my car

I would assume there is some fluid dripping onto the belt/s and the belt/s is throwing that fluid onto the underside of the hood. No need to trade it in just because of that. See what is leaking and fix the leak. Then power wash all that fluid off the underside of the hood and engine area.

I guess it is the power steering pump going out but not sure about the fluid where/what.

I am not sure exactly what caused that black stuff under the hood. Not sure if it is some fluid or if it is from what sounds like metal scraping.

If you can remove the drive belt/s and listen if the noise goes away. If so then it is something that a belt drives.
