Under the hood hot smoking

Hello, I just bought a car. The engine was really hot when I got home 45-minute drive, hot air only coming out and smoke from hood when I got home. When I turn it off it makes a gurgling swishing sound for 5 minutes and there is liquid near back left under hood.

Hello,

The gurgling sound is a sign of engine overheating due to low coolant. It is possible that the coolant leaked out and that it triggered the overheating of the engine.

The best course of action would be for you to inspect and see what is leaking. Coolant can leak from any number of items, from any of the hoses to radiator, water pump etc.
