U0422-71 DTC on scanner?

The _71 part of the trouble code i dictate that the bcm is reporting g either corrupt data or most likely there an acuator stuck open or closed and the bcm has commanded it to operate but it did not

So basically a bad or corrupt bcm that either need replacing or re writing via a bi directional scan tool or the "more likey"

Acuator problem hance the _71...in the code...

If I follow what you are saying, the EBCM problem (Stuck Motor) is causing the U0422-71 error?

I've had that failure off/on for a bit and it's not thrown the U0422-71 code. Replacing the EBCM doesn't look like it's any fun.

Yes the code is saying 2 things there a problem with the data distribution (bad wires or plug or other things ) causing a bad signal and also its either due to or on the line leading to an acuator somwhere on the vehicle acuators like tra smision hvac evap and others can cuase this code t _71 part of the code and since the code is conveying sort of a double measage it can be 1 of 2 or both things ..
Either a bad actuators or not ..ir" bad signal or not ? Or both are bad so a bi directional scan tool can dig deeper for you and help to pin point wich problems are there and can test their operation to see if theyre funtioning properly or not so you can know what part to or not to replace

Also heres a side note If your getting this cide than the moduals are still funtioning ok still comunicating to the ecu just having a bit of trouble doing so from a single point on the car mostlikely but not broken yet so no need to replace anything just yet If this is the only code you have to go by and your scan tool doesnt get any other codes Id say get acces to a pretty good bi directional scan tool ..that would be a great start ..and keep in mind this might be a minor issue or an easy fix .. good luck

Here are some things that can cuase this related to bad comunication to the bcm
Sticky or broken acuator or comunication wires or plugs leading to it
These actuators are in various places around the car like
Transmission management "
Engine management
Climate control management
Abs..srs..and so on
So a good scan tool can test each system directly and quickly to get strait to the location where things are acting up ...hope this helps good luck

Also Check the condition of your charging systen too becuase Somtimes evan somthing as simple as a weak batery can cuase this probpem with poor comunication in the can bus and or malfuntioning/weakacuator or all of the above i feel for you best of luck .
