Hello, I have been using Premium Fuel and my Catalyst went in (Check Engine Light came on). Some mechanics told me it was because I was using Premium instead of Regular Fuel. Other mechanics tell me fuel has no issue on the catalyst. Now I don't know what it is. Please help.

The higher the octane rating the more work the engine can do, so if you are towing or doing high performance driving use the higher-octane fuel, if you are just driving around town, you can use the lower octane fuel.
Please let us know if you need anything else to get the problem fixed.

Thanks for the reply, but I am still trying to find out if the type of fuel that I am using (Premium) had an effect on my damaged catalyst.

Sorry, you should be using unleaded fuel only.

Thank you very much.
I have one Final question before I close this thread:
Is unleaded the same as Regular Fuel?
Just want to make sure 100%.
Thanks once again.

Most fuel is unleaded which it can tell you on the pump it is being dispensed from. There are both regular and premium grade unleaded fuel.
