Turning signal issue

I noticed when turning a corner with the turning signal on, I can hear 1 to 3 loud clicks coming from the steering wheel. If I don't have the turning signal on, there are no clicks during a turn. I'm assuming it's the mechanism that resets the signal after a turn. Does anyone know how to change one of these mechanisms? The signal still turns off after a turn. I was also wondering if it was necessary to change?

As long as the signal is going off after the turn the cancelling cam is still working, the clicks are the lever that moves on the cam ratcheting as it passes it when the steering wheel is moving. I probably wouldn't change any of it until it stops working because, although it isn't that hard to change it, a replacement could be just as loud as it goes past the cam.
To replace it you need to remove the lower cover from the dash board. Then the upper and lower steering column covers. Next you unplug the switches wiring and then remove the two screws that hold the switch in place. The switch then slides out of the column module. Reverse the process to install the replacement.

Thank you. I'm going to hold off for now on replacement. I will probably order the part in just in case. But I do appreciate the diagrams on removal and replacement, it will help me a lot down the road.

If it does fail the most likely outcome is that you have to turn off the signals manually after turns so I wouldn't be in a rush either.
