The left turn signal flashes twice as fast as right. All signal lamps flash as selected, brake lights work normally, multi-function switch replaced with new Motorcraft unit of same part number. Left signal takes approximately 3 seconds to hear relay operation although flashing starts immediately. Can not locate signal flasher. I am an aircraft mechanic and understand schematics if I have them.

Hello,

You have no idea how refreshing that it is to hear. I have included the exterior lightning wiring diagrams in the diagrams down below for you. I also have the trailer towing package wiring diagram available for you if needed. Please keep us informed as to what you are able to find out, like a bad transistor or something like that.

Thanks,
Alex

Hi guys. I'm having a problem with my rear signal/flashers. Both rear signal lights failed on me, however the front works fine although they flash at double speed. I was told it was probably the flasher relay, or the fuses, but checked the fuses and bought a new relay and still have the same problem. Also replaced both rear lamps. If you can, please point me in the right direction. Be gentle though, I am a rank amateur mechanic and am doing this out of budget necessity and the desire to be self sufficient. Thanks.

In relay block to the right of the steering wheel column under the dash. The block is black with a black relay and flasher installed, could be covered in tape depending on the manufacturing plant your truck was built at.
You will need a flash light when you go looking for it.

It will either be under the dash in the fuse panel or under the hood in the power distribution box. Here is a picture of one.

How do I replace the hazard warning flasher? All the repair manual states is that it is located behind the glove department on the right hand side.

Flashers are a simple plug in replacement.Once you locate it, just unplug the old one and plug the new one in. My locator says it is on the back of the fuse block under the right side of dash.

I am trying to find a picture of this but it should be part of the turn signal switch. Take a look at the wiring diagram. It shows the hazards are part of the turn signal switch. If I remember correctly, it is a small switch on the end of the turn signal switch.

I will try to find a picture and attach it here.

Look under the dash. I don't know why I forgot this but the switch should be under the dash by the brake pedal.

Take a look at the attachment and you will see the switch when you pull it out it turns the hazards on.

I have a 1998 Ford F150 with 101000 miles on it. The turn signals, sometimes, will blink rapidly but will not light up the turn arrow. Then if I turn them off and on they will operate normal. I am in the process of changing the flasher but can't seem to locate it.
Question; does this sound like a fault flasher and if so where is the flasher located?

Thank you

The flasher unit may be under the dash on the right side or right by the fuse block. Good luck!!

Thank you for your response.

I looked on the driver side in the fuse box and under the dash. Nothing.

I did not look on the passenger side (right side) I will try that.

Thank you
