Hi:
Because of the model year, I'm having trouble finding schematics. However, I did find the basic one for the lighting.
I had to cut the pic in two to make it readable, but I did overlap the two so you can follow from one to the next. (See pics below)
Now, I don't have a fuse box schematic, but there is a 15-amp fuse that powers the brake lights along with other lighting. Power to that fuse comes from the headlight relay.
We need to work backwards, starting at the brake light switch. At the switch, there will be power in and out. The power supply will be green with a red tracer. Using a test light, see if power is present. Most vehicles will have power to the switch at all times. If there isn't, turn the key to the run position to double-check.
If there is power, depress the brake pedal and confirm power from the switch via a green wire with a white tracer.
