Over the course of a week my left and right blinker will start blinking for 3-4 blinks and then stop. While it blinks 3-4 times the green indicator lights blink just fine and the outside indicator lights are all operating just fine. This progressed to fewer and fewer blinks before stopping altogether. Today there are no blinks of lights anywhere, inside or out when turning the indicator handle L or R. Thanks for any help!

Given the type of symptom, I'd try a different flasher first. The fact it affects both sides the same way suggests it's not a wiring problem.

That's what makes turn signals work. Between the 1930s and early 1990s, they were a real simple and reliable mechanical unit that costs around $2.99 and lasted the life of the car. Today the engineers use an electronic module that can cost around $50.00. Because they have a lot of complicated circuitry inside, they fail much more often than the older part. The flashers now can be brand and model-specific, so you might consider finding a good used one at a salvage yard.
