I can here a click and it cancels when turning right. I was thinking of trying to replace the multi switch assembly. Part number Motorcraft 4W4Z13K359BA. It looks like I wouldn't have to pull the wheel because it's a 2003 - 2006. It looks like the early LS 2000 - 2002 had a different assembly. I know or think there is a cam and if it is bad then the wheel would have to be pulled but as I said it works one way and I can hear a click. Something doesn't feel right in the assembly even when switching on the brights. it's kinds stiff. something just doesn't seem right with the turn signal arm.

I have replaced many of those switches on Lincoln LS, the cancel tab dislodges from the spring and only will affect one side.

Thanks for the reply, so am I thinking right about just replacing the arm assembly?

If it has mechanically failed, yes.
