Left turn signal started flashing fast and when blinker was off it still make flasher noise. Replaced burnt out LR bulb. Now all bulbs (6) work and they do not blink fast. But the blinker noise is still there even when blinker off. I bought this car about a month ago from an older lady. I don't know what else to check or do. Please help, Larry

Hi,

The lighting control module has taken the function of a traditional flasher relay which would make the noise you hear. In this case, I suspect that is where the sound is coming from.

The module is approximately above where your right knee would be when driving. See pic below.

Because this is a module, what really needs to be done is to have the computers can-bus system scanned. CAN stands for controller area network. Basically, all computers/modules are tied together via a few wires. This type of scan will identify codes regardless of the module storing them.

Here is a link that explains how the procedure is done:

It has been a while since I've dealt with this model. However, if I remember correctly, there is a way to turn that sound off. I checked my manual and saw nothing related to it. But, if you have the original owner's manual, it may indicate how to turn the clicking off.

Let me know.

Joe
