Do you hear the solenoid when you try electronically? I have had a couple times when my car did that, try opening the trunk when you push down on it, you might have to wiggle it up and down a little. I have had a piece of material stuck in the latch on one of my cars years ago and that was the problem and got the trunk to open.

Yes, I’ve wiggled, pushed, pulled with help of course, and I’ve tried with the emergency release to no avail. I do here the solenoid engage. My thought is to find a way to get into the trunk through the back seat and address this without going to the dealer.

The bottom of the seat has two bolts holding it down, on some models it is different. On that you would have to push down on the bottom part of the seat and push it back. You might be able to get a little space where you can see in the trunk. The car should have a emergence release cable in the trunk that you can get to with a coat hanger or something to pull the cable.

There is a glow-in-the-dark
emergency trunk release handle
located on the back wall of the
trunk. This handle will glow following
exposure to light. Pull the release
handle toward the front of the
vehicle to open the trunk from the
inside.

If it all works, what doesn't work? If the solenoid works, and the lock works, the trunk should open. Could there be anything that had gotten in the lock mechanisms that is keeping it from releasing? Can you see the lock?
Let me know how you are making out.

I ended up taking the car to a mechanic who found the trouble to be the latch was broken. Entry was through taking the back seat out and a slim person getting in the trunk and releasing it. Thanks for the help!
