The trunk latch on my car is stuck in the open position and will not latch when I close the trunk/boot. Is there a fuse that controls this or is it the latch itself?

Hello my name is Dave.

It sounds to me like your latch might have slipped back into the closed position, if this is what has happened the solution is quite simple. All you have to do is put the key in the trunk, turn it and usually the latch will return to the open position, If it doesn't then you will need to use a screwdriver or something to make it move back. Another possibility is that the release cable has gotten stuck, if that is the case I have attached a diagram of the latch and you would have to disconnect the cable to release the latch. I hope this helps you find the issue and if you have anymore questions we are always here to help and thank you for using 2CarPros.
