I had the starter and solenoid checked and they are both good. Replaced the battery because of a dead cell in it and still cannot start without a jump. what do I look for next?

Hi,

If you can jump-start it, check to make sure the battery terminals are clean and tight. When you place the jumper on it, there is a chance it is tightening things enough to make a good contact.

When you connect the jumper cables, there is still only 12 volts available, so something you are doing is creating a better connection.

Let me know. Also, let me know if you hear anything without the jumpers. For example, do you hear a click or anything?

Take a look at this link:

Also, let me know if this happens every time you need to start the vehicle.

Take care,

joe
