Hello, I have a TK Sport with a 4.7 V8 magnum 5 speed manual. I got this truck and it drove just fine. I've driven manuals so I know it isn't rough driving but the problem is when I have it in any gear it wont accelerate or will slowly go if the pedal is floored. The clutch feels fine, shifts fine but my RPM's shoot and skyrocket quick to at most 5,000. Once I shift to second same thing but if I floor it then it starts to accelerate but not like usual when I park I shut the truck off and I smell some burning smell I checked the throttle cable and it was loose so I adjusted it then I checked the throttle body valve and it was spotless reverse same as other gears. Clutch nothing but a better pedal but still same thing so far. I've just been looking don't want to mess anything up but I need to figure out what it is and if it is a major problem. If it is something big I'm going to leave it to the professionals. Is it a possible recall? There's no error lights or anything. All internal electrical and mechanical works. And no problems with the battery never stutters to starting fact recently replaced a battery connector.

Hi Reddodge,

Sounds like a restriction to me. Either in the intake or exhaust. Here is a video that goes through the most common low power causes. Let's start with these.

Let me know what you find on these types of issues and we can go from there. Thanks

Done a little digging and it is my clutch. When clutches go out the clutch plate starts wearing down and over time or use if not noticed right off hand the plate starts to give and then there is no grab for the transmission to change or keep gears. So when the plate goes it makes the RPM's shoot up from not being able to grab the gears. Which is why my acceleration was slow and my RPM's were high. I got under neath my truck and found pieces of fiber. Which I then knew it had to be the clutch. But the reason the clutch felt fine is because the clutch cable is still intact. But the clutch doesn't have enough to grab the gear. Thank you so much anyways. Guess it took a little bit more digging! Below is an older picture of the Dodge! Thanks again!
