Had to replace the intake manifold gasket. Now the truck will not start. Getting fuel up to spider. Getting spark from coil to distributor. The timing has been reset three times using different methods. All on the compression stroke of number one. The engine rotates fast then will backfire through intake after about four rotations. I been working on cars for seventeen years and have never been this stumped.

Today's distributors have to be synced with crank sensor by a scanner which only a mechanic can do. Since it backfired pull dist cap and see if any movement in rotor if there is the distributor gear is shot and dist needs to be replaced as there should be no movement. Then check for a vacuum leak and recheck the work you have done. If you can scan for codes as well. It still may be out of time
