Truck suddenly shuts off while driving

Past couple times I've driven my truck, it will run perfectly fine, start fine, but after about five or so minutes all the gauges peg out and the truck just shuts off as if I've turned the key off. I can shift it to neutral and it fires back up no problem. There is no check engine light, and has no other problems whatsoever. it just shuts off randomly after five minutes.

The gauges pegging is telling us a voltage issue. Lets start by checking the alternator and battery cable connections. Here are two guides to help us:
