Truck Stalls at point of slowing down below 20 mpg unless I keep accelerating

Truck starts fine accelerates fine and works ok until I slow down for anything really, For example I slow down at a stop sign or signal truck begins to sputter to the point where it stalls completely I have to restart truck. If I don't press the brakes when the truck stalls the brakes lock and are really hard to press. Thought maybe was fuel pump but I'm not sure anymore. I don't really want to sell my truck since it was a gift from my dad but I don't want to repair at a cost I cant afford

Hi, I'm having the same problem with my 2007 Colorado. I was just wondering if cleaning the throttle plate worked or did you ever figure out what the problem was and if you were able to fix it, and how? Thank you

In the future post this question not as an add on as they don't get answered. Do the same and then check fuel pressure with a gauge auto parts rent it.
