Okay, this truck has been well maintained and has always been a trooper. Drove from Indiana to Delaware no problems, after two weeks in Delaware it stopped working. She cranks over but will not start. Battery is good, fuel pump whines when you turn the ignition on, tried starting it in neutral, no difference. I connected it to a reader and it says no codes (despite the check engine light being on). I retry and it says no connection. The reader is good I tested it on my own truck. Any suggestions on what to try next would be greatly appreciated, at over 250,000 miles I really do not want to have it towed to a shop.

Additional info: Do not think it is the MAF sensor, had a similar problem with a 1997 F150 and it would start after I disconnected the sensor, tried it, no effect. Also, with the key turned to start, while the engine is cranking, it will go on and on and on. As soon as I let the key fall back to the normal position the engine sputters, but does not catch.

Scan for codes with a different reader and check fuel pressure with a gauge auto parts rent it. See link.
