So I turn the key over and the truck starts no problem, then when I throw it into drive or reverse it goes silent and will not move or anything. Then I have to turn the truck on an off a few times. Is it a clogged filter?

Hi,

Does the transmission eventually work? Have you checked for diagnostic trouble codes? What condition is the transmission fluid and is it full?

Do me a favor, see if there are any diagnostic trouble codes stored. Here is a link that shows how it's done:

Let me know what you find.

My grandfather let me know I was overheating it by leaving the air on too long. I didn't know that was possible.

Hi,

If you allow the engine run at idle with the A/C on, it is possible. However, it shouldn't happen.

Regardless, let me know if you run into trouble or have any other questions.

Take care,

Joe
