1998 Ford Ranger Not shifting into drive

My truck at a complete stop will not move when I shift into drive. Reverse 1st 2nd all work. It will move in 2nd and if I manually shift it to drive after I'eve gained jus a little speed it runs perfectly fine. I did check the transmission fluid seemed to be at normal levels.

Sounds to be in limp mode, scan for codes and check it

I would say the gear range sensor has failed to tell the PCM the transmission is in drive, I would swap the sensor out to see what happens, there will not be a trouble code for this. Check out the images (below). Please let us know what happens.
