My ramcharger has been acting up. The voltage regulator in the ecm is bad from what Autozone tells me. Would the voltage regulator cause my ramcharger to stall out? What other symptoms would I experience with a bad voltage regulator? Thanks

Those voltage regulators inside the Engine Computer have an extremely low failure rate. A problem with the charging system will cause the battery to run down as you drive. You'll get about an hour before the engine stalls, and much less if you have the head lights, heater fan, or wipers turned on.

Measure the battery voltage to verify the charging system is not working. A good, fully-charged battery will measure 12.6 volts with the engine not running. Next, with the engine running you must find between 13.75 and 14.75 volts. If you do, the charging system is working, but it still could have an intermittent problem.
